My name is Finley Thornton (AFSP, PB, PTP), and I am excited to work with you and help you reach your financial goals. I see each person, family, and small business as unique. I appreciate the trust you have placed in me.

I feel joy in helping others with finances and empowering people to help reach their goals. If you would like to learn how to do your own taxes, budgeting, or other financial skills, I am happy to teach you. If you prefer for us to sit down and work on it together, then let's have some tea and get to work. If you never want to deal with it yourself and want me handle it all, that is also great!

I feel it is sad that this industry appears to have developed into an environment of shame and misinformation. I intend to be the finance and tax professional who sits next to you and helps you deal with the process. No financial task is too small for me, from filling out bank account applications, to completing small business taxes, and financial planning. I will partner with you every step of the way.

My Story

Since I was a child, I have have had an affinity and love for numbers and math. This naturally led to me walking down the path of finance and taxes being my life's work. Having grown up in a small town community in Texas, I take pride in offering my services with the warmth and hospitality of my youth.

I began my journey at the University of Arkansas (Honors College) where I earned my Bachelor’ of Science in Finance with a Minor in Economics (2014). In 2020 I completed my master’s degree in Multicultural Women’s’ and Gender Studies from Texas Woman’s University. Through this time, I studied and broadened my personal and professional scope by taking International Trade and Marketing classes, performing cost analysis for for the Global Engagement Office in the Walton College of Business, working in the accounting and tax prep field, and expanding my knowledge of tax laws and their impacts.

During this time I also grew on a personal level, delving into civic and leadership roles that resonated with me. From being the Treasurer of two student organizations to becoming the Co-Founder & President of an organization supporting students with disabilities, I found the personal calling to help and empower others.

In 2021, I began working with a small service and retail business in Virginia as their accounting and finance consultant. The land and the people spoke to me. It is now where my pup and I call Home. It was during this time that I continued my financial education with Universal Accounting Center and am now certified as a Professional Tax Preparer (PTP) and Bookkeeper (PB). Additionally, I am a participant in the IRS's Annual Season Filing Program (AFSP) which requires yearly recertification through continuing education as well as regulated professional ethical compliance.
